My Creative Process

Painting is an expressive outlet for me. Many acrylic paintings are inspired by my photographs, or my feelings and experiences are shared abstractly.

After my bilateral mastectomy, I researched a multitude of online sites for my health and well being. I discovered a podcast called Emotional Badass - Where Moxie Meets Mindful by Nikki Eisenhauer. One episode she discussed the different types of personality traits, and I immediately connected with one she mentioned, the INFJ. I took the Myers Briggs Personality Type test and my results were the rare type, INFJ - Advocate Personality. The advocate personality strengths are: creative, insightful, inspiring, decisive, determined, passionate, and altruistic. Their weaknesses are: sensitive, extremely private, perfectionistic, always need to have a cause, and can burn out easily.

I withdrew from painting and photography over the winter and spring months. I wasn't focused on my social media accounts or creating, and I worried about losing social media followers and potential sales. I realized that I really needed to be kind to myself, and the creative process will come back.

It's now July, and I'm feeling inspired once again.

Painting is titled "Expressions" (2017) and is available for Divinemoira Studio. 10"W x 20"H
